Up for the Final

Added 27th September 2010

Sean Treacys qualified for the 2010 London Senior Hurling Final with a 2-14 to 1-15 win over Robert Emmets at Ruislip. For the first time this year there was a full squad available with a clean bill of health and every ounce of energy was required to get over a spirited Robert Emmets team.

The Senior Hurling Final will be played in Ruislip on Sunday, October 10th. As always the Sean Treacy's committee would welcome all support from former players and club members for this great occasion for the club.

Training continues in Mitcham tonight at 7.30pm and no stone will be left unturned in an effort to win our first Senior championship since 2002.

DUBAI GULF GAELIC SEVENS' TOURNAMENT - JAN 2008

Sean Treacy’s Hurling Club got its 50th year anniversary celebrations off to a flying start having had a very successful trip to Dubai to participate in the annual Dubai 7’s GAA tournament. Over 100 teams were represented (mainly from Ireland) and Sean Treacy’s were the sole London representatives in the hurling tournament.

9 players made the trip under the management team of Martin Carroll / Martin Cahill and all of the players and management deserve great credit in promoting the standard of hurling in London overseas. The tournament was held on Fri Jan 25th and Sat Jan 26th with festivities being organized all week.

The team got off to a flying start beating the Dublin Civil Service and then Glen Rovers from Cork. We beat the Dubai Celts local team in the semi final of the shield and played Erins Own in the final.

We started this game very well and were 4 points to no score up after 5 minutes. However the number of games were starting to take its toll in the blistering heat and having only 2 available substitutes when all the other teams had 7 or 8 worked against us and we were beaten by a gallant and brilliant Erins Own team who are the currant All Ireland 7’s champions. The club would like to thank our main sponsor Paddy Crowe in The Ramble Inn Tooting for helping us out in finalizing the trip and we would like to thank all at the Dubai Celts GAA club for their great organization skills and hospitality.

More pictures from the tournament are available under the Photos link.
